Opens on JPEG output. This is the conversion to reach for when something will not accept a WebP and the picture is a photograph: JPEG is accepted essentially everywhere and stays small.
If the WebP has transparency, it will be lost, filled with white, because JPEG has no alpha channel. WebP to PNG keeps it, at the cost of a larger file.
Worth saying plainly: both formats are lossy, so this conversion decodes one approximation and makes another. For one hop that is fine and usually invisible. Doing it repeatedly is not.

Questions
Is anything lost converting WebP to JPG?
A little. Both are lossy formats, so the picture is decoded from the WebP's approximation and re-approximated as JPEG. One conversion at a sensible quality is not something you will see. Converting back and forth several times is, and each round is permanent.
Should I convert to JPG or PNG?
JPEG for photographs, and for anything going somewhere with a size limit. PNG when the picture has transparency, or has sharp edges and text like a screenshot or a logo, where JPEG's artefacts show up badly.
Is my picture uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is decoded, drawn to a canvas and re-encoded entirely by your own browser. This page is served with a Content-Security-Policy whose connect-src is none, so it is not permitted to open a connection at all. Photographs are the files people most often regret uploading, which is most of the point.
Can I resize while converting?
Yes, and that is why this is the resizer rather than a separate tool. The width and height are filled in from the picture you choose, so leaving them alone converts at the original size; changing them does both jobs in one pass and one re-encode.
