Your PDF is opened by this page and never uploaded. It is edited here, in WebAssembly, and the page keeps working with the network off.
Open the PDF and the pages are numbered at once, at the bottom in the middle. To change how, press the settings button: bottom or top, left, middle or right; 1, Page 1, Page 1 of 9 or 1 / 9; the number to start from; and whether to skip a cover page or two, so the first numbered page can be 1. A header and a footer can go on every page too, and a watermark across them.
The numbers are written as real text, in Helvetica, so they print sharply and can be searched, and the pages under them are kept exactly as they were. Merging several files first? Put them together with Merge PDF, then number the result here, or insert the other files under Pages.
The file is numbered on your device, in WebAssembly, and never uploaded; the page is served with a rule that forbids it from opening a connection to anywhere.
How to use it
- Open your PDF. It is never uploaded; the pages are numbered straight away.
- Press the settings button to choose where the numbers go, their style and where they start.
- Press Download.
Questions
Can I start numbering after the cover?
Yes. In the settings, skip the first page or two; the next page gets the number you choose to start from.
Will the numbers cover my footer?
They sit about a third of an inch from the edge, where most documents leave room. If yours has a footer there, put the numbers at the top or in a corner, or crop the page.
Can I number only some pages?
The numbers go on every page after any you skip. To number part of a document, split it first, number the part, and merge it back.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The document is opened by this page, drawn by a PDF renderer in the tab and written back out by WebAssembly on your device. The page is served with a rule that forbids it from opening any network connection, so the file cannot leave your computer or phone.

The same editor, opened on another tool. Every tool is there once you are.
Your data stays on your device
Everything above runs inside your browser as WebAssembly compiled from Rust. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored on a server. You can load this page once, go offline, and it still works.
This page makes no requests at all, to anywhere. That is not a promise in the copy: it is a Content-Security-Policy header your browser enforces, and connect-src on it is none. Open the network tab and watch nothing happen.
