Your signature

Your PDF is opened by this page and never uploaded. It is edited here, in WebAssembly, and the page keeps working with the network off.

Open a PDF and tap where the words should go: a box opens right there on the page and you type. Fill in the blanks of a form that was never made fillable, add a date, a reference number or a note in the margin. Choose the size, the font and the colour, make it bold, and drag the text into place when it is done; tap it again to change it.

The text is written into the PDF as real text, in the standard Helvetica, Times or Courier fonts that every PDF reader has, so it is sharp at any zoom, can be selected and searched, and prints cleanly. Nothing is uploaded: the page opens the file and writes the new one in this tab.

To change words that are already printed on the page, cover them with Whiteout and type the new ones on top. The old words are hidden, not removed, so do not use this to take out anything confidential.

How to use it

  1. Open your PDF. It is never uploaded.
  2. With Text chosen, tap where the words go and type.
  3. Change the size, font, colour or bold at the bottom; drag the text to place it exactly.
  4. Press Download for the PDF with your text in it.

Questions

Can I fill in a PDF form that is not fillable?

Yes: that is what this is for. Tap each blank and type into it. The answers are written onto the page as text, so they print and can be read in any PDF viewer.

Can I change the text that is already in the PDF?

Not directly, because a PDF draws its text with fonts that are usually cut down to the letters it uses. Cover the old words with Whiteout, then type the replacement on top in a matching size.

Which languages can I type in?

English and the other Western European languages are written as real text with the standard PDF fonts. Other scripts, Greek, Cyrillic, Chinese, and emoji, are written as a sharp picture of the text, so they look right but cannot be selected.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The document is opened by this page, drawn by a PDF renderer in the tab and written back out by WebAssembly on your device. The page is served with a rule that forbids it from opening any network connection, so the file cannot leave your computer or phone.

Other jobs

The same editor, opened on another tool. Every tool is there once you are.

Your data stays on your device

Everything above runs inside your browser as WebAssembly compiled from Rust. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored on a server. You can load this page once, go offline, and it still works.

This page makes no requests at all, to anywhere. That is not a promise in the copy: it is a Content-Security-Policy header your browser enforces, and connect-src on it is none. Open the network tab and watch nothing happen.
