Background

Your photo is opened and cut out by this page, on this device, and never uploaded. Check your country's current rules before you print: offices also look at expression, glasses, shadows and how recent the photo is, which no tool can check for you.

The US passport and visa photo is 2 × 2 inches, with the head between 1 and 1 3⁄8 inches from the bottom of the chin to the top of the hair, on a white or off-white background. Choose a straight-on photo and it is cut out, put on white and framed to those numbers; the guides show where the head must fall.

Download it as a 600 × 600 pixel image for an online renewal, or a 4 × 6 print sheet with six copies to print at a pharmacy kiosk for a few cents. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose a straight-on photo of your face and shoulders.
  2. Check the guides; drag or resize if needed.
  3. Download the photo, or a print sheet for a 10 × 15 cm print.

Questions

Can I wear glasses in a US passport photo?

No. Since 2016 glasses are not allowed in US passport photos unless a doctor's note says you cannot remove them. Take them off before the photo.

What background does a US passport photo need?

White or off-white, plain, with no shadows. White is the default here; Off-white is there too.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. You are cut out of the background and the photo is framed in this tab, on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Your data stays on your device

Everything above runs inside your browser as WebAssembly compiled from Rust. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored on a server. You can load this page once, go offline, and it still works.

This page makes no requests at all, to anywhere. That is not a promise in the copy: it is a Content-Security-Policy header your browser enforces, and connect-src on it is none. Open the network tab and watch nothing happen.
